Homa Bay County is located in the Nyanza region of Kenya. In the 2022-2027 government, Roselyn Omollo is serving as the Health Minister for Homa Bay county. (This is as of November 2022). In the 2017-2022 government, Richard Otieno Muga held this position. Health Ministers are also known as ‘CEC Member for Health’ or CEC Representative for Health.
CEC stands for County Executive Committee. The committees’ chief executive is the county governor while the deputy chief executive is the deputy county governor. In addition to the health representative, the committee has other representatives (approximately ten in total). They represent other devolved functions listed here. Depending on the county, devolved roles are combined differently.

In conclusion,
- There are a total of 40 wards in the 8 sub-counties of Homa Bay County. Ndhiwa & Karachuonyo both have the highest (7) number of wards while Kabondo Kasipul, Rangwe, Homa Bay Town & Suba South all have the lowest ( 4 each).
- Ndhiwa has the highest number (71) of health facilities (18% of Homa Bay County & 0.50% of Kenya).
- Rachuonyo South (Kasipul) have the highest number of Faith-Based Health Facilities. (6 out of 32)
- Karachuonyo has the highest number of Ministry of Health Facilities (Public). (Total of 40 out of 220)
- Ndhiwa has the highest number of Private Health Facilities. (Total of 20 out of 113)
- Mbita (Suba South) & Ndhiwa both have the highest number of NGO Health Facilities. (6 each out of 22)
