Test for typhoid IgM antibody using blood/serum from finger prick.
- Unlike Widal test, our test is fast and easy to use. It is:
- Ideal for point of care testing (in the field or bedside).
- Ideal for medical facilities without laboratories (no refrigeration needed).
- Easy to administer. No extra equipment or training is required.
- Fast. Results are obtained within 10 minutes.
- This is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay.
- It has a sensitivity of 69 – 89% (depending on number of days since infection), and has a specificity of 91%.
- It uses 1ul of serum or plasma, and 2 ul of whole blood or finger-stick blood
- The complete kit contains 25: tests, pipettes, lancets and alcohol swabs (for finger stick testing). There is also a running buffer (diluent) and instructions for use (IFU).
- Our test specifically tests for IgM antibodies as it is meant to detect new infection and not show signs of previous infection (IgG antibody).
